Characteristic

413 km2, Mountain plateau in the altitude of 2 600 m - part of Tanzania's Southern Highlands. The protected area includes the Kitulo Plateau and the adjoining Livingstone Forest. This national park has been established primarily for the protection of its flora. Typical ecosystems: cloud forest, mountain grassland, wetlands and alpine biotopes.

Very good conditions for trekking - a network of trekking paths. Walking across mountain grassland.

Note

 Best time to visit: XII-IV all flowers in blossom, IX-XI dry season suitable for walking
